Style Rules

  1. Proportion is key! When wearing something tight on top, wear something loose on the bottom and the other way round. This is an important style rule because wearing tight clothes from head to toe can be unflattering to most body shapes.
  2. Be careful when mixing texture and fabric weights. Summer weight and winter weight garments should be mixed with care.
  3. If you have a large bust be careful not to wear high necklines, as you can appear top heavy and larger than you actually are. The best necklines are v-necks and round necks as they will open you up and elongate.
  4. When wearing long pants, pointed low-line shoes help elongate the leg - always remember that a nude shoe is the best way to create the illusion of length!
  5. The right undergarments are essential for everyday dressing. If you don't have the right foundation it won't matter what you wear on top!
  6. When wearing jewellery keep it clean and minimal. If you wear long earrings don't wear a necklace but if you would like to wear both keep it simple.
  7. Bags and shoes don't always have to match an outfit, in fact colour clashing can be an instant update. For example if you are wearing a red outfit grey accessories are complimentary as emerald green can be to fuchsia.
  8. Wear the right top length for your height and proportions. If you are shorter wear shorter tops and vice versa: this will help you look in proportion.
  9. Avoid extreme open-toed shoes or sandals in a corporate environment. Also avoid short skirts, shorts, ripped jeans and thongs - these styles are best reserved for the weekend.
  10. Balance is also important with make-up. If playing with a strong eye keep the lip minimal and vice versa. This will stop you appearing overdone.
